as an 18xx freak I want to remark, that there exists not only the word "to unpoeppel" but also the word "to poeppel" or "poeppeln": it means "placing a station marker on the board" in 18xx games !

eine hübsche Philosophie zum Thema „Pöppel“!
Die unterschiedlichen Korrelationen zwischen Spieler und Spielfigur, die sich darin ausdrücken, daß man beim Schach „mein DAME“ oder „meinen KÖNIG“ schlägt, beim „Mensch-ärgere-Dich-nicht“ aber „MICH selbst“ rauswirft, sind mir bisher nicht deutlich gewesen. Danke für die Aufklärung.
