comment on «Jati»

I was a student at the School of the Associated Arts in St. Paul, Minnesota from 1964 - 1967 and one of my first instructors was Keith Havens. The class was on color and composition and I also had a painting class that he led.

I remember that along with being a excellent painter, he was also very inventive. We as students were often invited to test his ideas for games and Jati may have been one of these.

If you are interested, the school is still in operation and is now called the College of Visual Arts and is still at the same location in St. Paul. They may have additional information.

Hi Aaron,
Was doing a little research on my Uncle and came to this website. I would be happy to give you information regarding Keith and his games. Keith is survived by his wife and daughter.
Sincerely,
Ron Havens

Hi Aaron,

That's so unfortunate. I wonder if there is a son or daughter to speak to...

cheers,
Rick

Hi Rick,

thanks for the link to Keith Havens in Grand Marais. Yes, this is the autor of Jati and Sheri already tried to contact him a few weeks ago. Sadly, she learned that Keith has passed away in August 2006.

Very cool!

Did a search and a Keith Havens b. 1921 appears to still be living in Minnesota. Maybe you should check it out? Would be an interesting interview.

Now can we put our energy into figuring out who designed Image (3M)? :)
